Eric Walker’s career in entertainment began in the early eighties in acting. He is most well known for the two movies he starred in as Mace Towani for George Lucas in the Star Wars spin off known as The Ewok Adventures. After that he attended the Los Angeles High School for the Arts alongside with other well-known entertainers as Josh Grobin, Fergie, Corbin Bleu, and Anthony Anderson to name a few. He studied acting in Hollywood for 8 years with veteran actor Virgil Frye. During that time it was not uncommon for Virgil to have famous guests show up for a class such as Dennis Hopper, Sean Penn, and Robert Hays. On the acting front Eric continued to appear in several television shows such as "Webster" with Emmanuel Lewis, and the Disney Saturday night movie "Little Spies" with Mickey Rooney. Other film credits of Eric's include "She’s out of control" with Tony Danza and "Less than Zero" with Robert Downey Jr. But it was there in High School at LACHSA that he began his artistic journey into the uncompromising creative depth of music and all it has to offer. The first song he wrote (with the help of fellow music aficionado and music composer Buddy Mix) was a song for his mother who had died when Eric was only six years old. The song was entitled: "Here and Now". His collaboration with Buddy Mix continued on about a dozen or so songs over the span of a decade. While still in high school, Eric wrote a song for a school play called "The Shattering". The song and play were a major success at the time. Eric later wrote all the instrumental music for an award winning Canadian Documentary "The Melashenko's" that he also Directed and Edited. He continues to work as an editor doing demo reels and trailers for up and coming movies, a talent he first learned while editing "The Making of Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure". The concept which was started as a school project by the set teacher for him and Warwick Davis. Now with the inspiration of his wife Nhu Tran, his many trips to Vietnam, and a wealth of meaningful artistic and real world life experiences under his belt, Eric has decided to release his first complete music CD entitled: "Tangier Dream". The concept for the CD came to Eric in a dream. Eric was in the Morocco city of Tangier in a setting far off in the future. In his dream Eric discovered that Tangier will become the center of an upcoming spiritual renaissance. As a footnote, Eric wants to point out that the name of his Tangier Dream CD has nothing to do with the German group Tangerine Dream. Although comparisons in the style of Eric's music might be made since the group has long been an inspiration and influence to Eric for years, along with greats like Jean Michel Jarre, Kitaro, Vangelis and Daft Punk to name only a few. |
